What is INZ 1146 form used for?

This form required to be completed for supporting 'Partnership-Based Temporary Entry Applications'. Such applications encompass applications submitted under the following categories:

  • Partners of New Zealand citizens or residence class visa holders
  • Partners of individuals holding work or student visas
  • Entry to New Zealand with the intent of a culturally arranged marriage.

The visa applicant applying for such a visa must fill out the Application for a Partnership-Based Temporary Entry Visa form (INZ 1198) or the corresponding online application form.

Who can fill out INZ 1146 form?

This form needs to be completed and signed by the sponsoring partner who is supporting a 'Partnership-Based Temporary Entry Applications'.

The sponsoring partner could be a New Zealand citizen or residence class visa holder, a work visa holder, or a student visa holder. Certain requirements need to be met to be an 'eligible sponsor'.

How to fill out INZ 1146 form

For New Zealand citizens or residence class visa holders, sections A to C of the form must be filled out. Only if applicable, complete Section D: Culturally arranged marriage requirements.

Applicants for, or holders of, student or work visas should complete sections A and B of the form.

All applicants are required to complete Section E: Declaration by person supporting an applicant under partnership-based temporary entry applications.

Upon completing the form, provide it along with your evidence/attachments to your partner/intended partner, so they can include it with their application.
