How to fill out INZ 1226 form

INZ 1226 form consists of three sections: Section A, Section B, and Section C.

Section A is the Student Visa Declaration, where the applicant agrees to inform Immigration New Zealand about any changes to their circumstances after submitting the application. They also agree to leave New Zealand before their visa expires and to pay for any healthcare or medical assistance if they are not entitled to free healthcare in New Zealand. The applicant acknowledges that remaining in New Zealand after the visa has expired may result in deportation. They also acknowledge that if they have received immigration advice from an unlicensed immigration adviser, their application will not be processed further by Immigration New Zealand. Additionally, the applicant authorises Immigration New Zealand to provide information about their entitlement to work to potential employers via the online VisaView system. If the applicant is granted a visa with the condition of holding acceptable insurance, they agree to arrange and hold insurance that their education provider considers acceptable.

Section B is the Authority to Act section, to be completed if an immigration adviser, lawyer, or another person exempt from licensing has recorded the applicant’s information in the online form and will be submitting the form on their behalf. The applicant acknowledges that only a licensed immigration adviser or a person exempt from licensing may act on their behalf throughout the processing of the application.

Section C is the Authority to Submit section, to be completed if a person has assisted the applicant by recording their information in the online form and will be submitting the form on their behalf. The applicant authorises the person named to submit their student visa application, reconsideration application, or variation of conditions application online and to act on their behalf with regards to the processing of that application. The applicant also authorises all other licensed immigration advisers or persons exempt from licensing who work for the named organisation to act on their behalf.

It is important to note that only a licensed immigration adviser or a person exempt from licensing may act on behalf of the applicant throughout the application process. The authorised person will receive all communication from Immigration New Zealand. If the person submitting the form is not licensed or exempt from licensing, they cannot provide immigration advice or act on behalf of the applicant with regards to the processing of the application.
