What is INZ 1198 used for?
This form is used in cases where the applicant is lodging a physical application (hard copy) for a Partnership-Based Temporary Visa Application. In most instances, this application is filed online, but if there is limited internet access, this paper form may be used instead.
Who can fill out INZ 1198?
This form should be filled out by those applying for a work or visitor visa based on their partnership with a New Zealand citizen, resident, or someone with a temporary visa in New Zealand.
It is also applicable for those applying for a visitor visa through a culturally arranged marriage with a New Zealand citizen or resident.
If you're planning to study in New Zealand, you should use the Student Visa Application (INZ 1012) form (or online application) and fulfill the immigration criteria outlined in the student visa instructions.

How to fill out INZ 1198
All applicants must complete Sections A (applicant's personal details), B (contact details), C (health information), D (character information) and G (declaration).
If the applicant is applying for a partnership visa, complete Section E, but if the applicant is applying for a visitor visa for culturally arranged marriage, complete Section F.
The sponsoring partner should separately complete and sign INZ 1146 form.
