We are looking for a Bid Specialist to join our team based in Fanshawe Street, Auckland! You will be part of a world-class team of innovative, multi-disciplinary professionals who love to win work. Your new role will have a high focus on the writing and editing aspects of bids and proposals while combining your working knowledge and experience.

The Bid Specialist is responsible for writing and editing aspects of proposals, bids, and other business development material. They will be able to articulate the ABC value proposition in the context of bids and proposals (writing to win work). You'll be involved in every aspect of the submission and have an excellent appreciation of what the client needs and how best to articulate how ABC can provide that. This is a permanent full-time role for 32 hours per week.

- Write compelling written content for bids and proposals
- Collaborate with Bid Managers/Bid Coordinators and Project Managers to develop win themes and ensure that these are reflected in the proposal
- Ensure bids and proposals are developed and submitted in a timely and cost-effective manner, in accordance with agreed strategy, and meeting client deadlines
- Advise and support strategic Client Managers, drive client management planning workshops
- Develop Business Development collateral to support consulting activities
- Develop internal Business Development training and guidance content
- Develop internal communication on Business Development best practice
- Proofread all documents for fluidity and grammar
- Leadership abilities to mentor junior and intermediate team members
- Attend internal bid meetings as required to ensure clarity of expectations and report on progress
- Liaise with Marketing to ensure that bid output matches our group and departmental value propositions
- Maintain standard bid document files and logs in accordance with established procedures
- Proactively identify and action opportunities for continuous improvement

- At least 10+ years of bid and proposal writer experience
- Ability to create efficiencies in the bid process through coordination
- Exceptional organisational skills and detail-oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent graphic design skills
- Proven background in administration, preferably with bid and tender submissions
- Thrive in a busy work environment, and ability to work to deadlines collaboratively
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise workload
- Proactive and enthusiastic to do what is required to finish the job.
- Collaborative and strong team player
- Self-motivated and self-disciplined
- Ability to work in a virtual environment
- Understanding of and a commitment to upholding ABC's values (Everyone Matters, Empowered to Deliver, Excellence Everyday)
- Experience in relevant industry (engineering consultancy or construction) preferred
