Clinical Manager: Be at the Heart of Aged Care

With a brand new 56-bed care home opening in July 2024, we are looking for the Clinical Manager to ideally join the team in April to begin recruiting your team and to help bring in the care home’s first residents. You will have the unique opportunity to be involved in setting up the new care home and preparing for its success, including building your clinical and care team from scratch. This role will be responsible for between 30-35 staff.

About the Role

This is a permanent, full-time role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Working in close partnership with the General Manager, you will provide a high level of clinical leadership and support to clinical and care staff. Located in Tikipunga, Whangārei, ABC will offer hospital, rest home, and dementia-level care, while providing support to our nearby ABC as needed. This role will offer you the opportunity to shape and grow future success stories amongst the residents and staff to positively impact the wider community.

Where You’ll Make an Impact:

Provide person-first clinical care for residents.
Lead, coach, and mentor a team of nurses and caregivers to provide excellent quality clinical care.
Conduct medication rounds, manage care plans, in-service education sessions, and maintain accurate paperwork.
Build trusting relationships with residents’ families.
Stand up and tell us where we can invest more to ensure continuous quality improvement.

Skills and Qualifications

You’ll help us make a real difference through your Clinical Leadership experience, personal passion, and empathy.

Hold a current APC and NZ Nursing Council Registration.
Excellent clinical skills in adult care and ideally have aged care experience.
Passion for leading a team to mentor, develop, and support others.
Internal audit management and leading continuous quality improvements.
Confident communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities.
