Responsibilities

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to plan and design solar power plants.
Identify and select appropriate power generation equipment. Consider factors like capacity, efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness in equipment selection. Determine the appropriate circuit configuration based on project requirements. Design circuit layouts, select conductor sizes, and specify protective devices to ensure efficient power distribution and load balancing. Select suitable electrical equipment, including transformers, circuit breakers, transmission lines and other equipment, based on load requirements, voltage levels, and system protection needs. Develop products such as electric motors, components, equipment, and appliances considering performance, cost, and availability. Review and interpret technical specifications, project requirements, and contractual documents related to electric power equipment and systems. Monitor and manage inventory levels of electrical components, machines, appliances, and equipment. Determine optimal inventory levels based on demand forecasts, lead times, and production schedules. Implement inventory control measures to minimize excess or obsolete inventory. Establish delivery and installation schedules for machines, switchgear, cables, and fittings. Supervise the operation and maintenance of power stations, transmission and distribution systems and industrial plants. Develop outdoor lighting system designs for road. Analyse project requirements, traffic patterns, and safety considerations to determine the appropriate control strategies and equipment configurations. May specialise in research in areas such as power generation and transmission systems, transformers, switchgear and electric motors, telemetry.

Other Duties

Provide interface for scope of work handoff between operations and sales. Support project estimating and scheduling tasks as required. Contribute to daily duties by achieving targets, displaying a professional public image, positively participate in any mandatory sessions, and actively demonstrate values, vision and principles. All work practices are conducted within statutory and company Health & Safety requirements whilst taking appropriate action to manage hazards. Comply with any laws, regulations, company policies, processes, and procedures and actively contribute to their continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical & Electronics Engineering. Technical Skills: Proficiency in using solar design software and other engineering tools is essential. Familiarity with CAD software, PV system modeling, and electrical system design is beneficial. Industry Knowledge
