We're looking for an Intermediate or Senior Engineer with a background in DevOps, SQL, Terraform, Octopus Deploy, AWS to work in our Auckland office!

The team:

You’ll be a key part of the (DrDRE) Platform-as-a-Service Database team, a cross-functional agile infrastructure development team. Our goal is to create a data platform to provide ABC product teams with highly available databases in a consistent and automated fashion. You will build on the technical capabilities of the team to provision, own and maintain the production Database infrastructure, troubleshoot performance issues, build ancillary tooling, automation and resolve production incidents.

The role:

As an Engineer in the DrDRE, you will make an impact by applying your engineering skills to understand and drive the development of applications and tools that improve the scalability and performance of ABC. If you enjoy flexibility in the way you work, and diving into difficult engineering problems while having the freedom to solve them creatively, this is the role for you.

Technical skills we're looking for:

Database/Infrastructure - SQL/Postgres/Dynamo
Scripting experience - Python, Powershell
Infrastructure as Code - Terraform, Cloudformation
CICD - Jenkins, Octopus deploy, Teamcity, Github Actions
Cloud Platform - AWS or relevant exp

At ABC you'll work on:

Be customer-focused and directly engage with our PaaS customers;  identify customer pain points and solve real customer problems based on observing their struggles and analysing customer data.
Develop continuous delivery pipelines and software tools to automate cloud-based solutions.
Build and maintain a centralised SQL Server platform and ancillary tools to enable ABC’s development teams
Automate and support infrastructure provisioned in AWS with infrastructure-as-code solutions
Continuously improve processes and solutions to be scalable and highly available
Implement detection and alerting of anomalous behaviours
Master several technical areas while maintaining a broad understanding of the current industry landscape. Ensure technical decisions are made with your team in alignment with ABC’s engineering practice.
Work proactively with your manager on your personal and career development, highlighting any training/development needs.
You will join the teams on call rotation and use analytical and problem solving skills to resolve incidents.
